Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

To use Vajra Epoxy Resin, mix the resin and hardener in the specified ratio, stir thoroughly, and apply to your project. For detailed instructions, refer to the user guide provided with the product.

At an ambient temperature of 25–30°C, the working time is approximately 30–45 minutes. Lower temperatures extend the working time, while higher temperatures reduce it.

Vajra Epoxy Resin has a shelf life of 12 months from the manufacturing date when stored in a sealed condition. Ensure bottles are tightly closed after each use to maintain product integrity.

Yes, Vajra Epoxy Resin can be tinted using compatible pigments. Ensure you use pigments specifically designed for epoxy to maintain the resin’s properties and achieve the best results.

For optimal results, use Vajra Epoxy Pigments or metallic powders. Avoid solvent-based, water-based, or acrylic paints, as they may negatively impact adhesion, curing, or durability. Alcohol inks can be used cautiously, as they may affect long-term brightness.

Yes, Vajra Epoxy Resin is versatile and suitable for various projects, including river tables. Its low heat generation and excellent bonding with wood make it ideal for such applications.

At 25°C, you can pour up to 20mm in a single pour. For higher ambient temperatures, reduce the thickness to avoid overheating. Always test with smaller pours before scaling up.

Yes, priming and sealing are essential to prevent bubbles from forming during the pour and to ensure proper bonding between the resin and wood.

Mix the resin and hardener in the recommended ratio and apply a thin layer to the wood using a brush. Allow it to cure for at least 12 hours before applying additional layers.

Sanding is not necessary as Vajra Epoxy Resin offers excellent inter-coat adhesion. However, you can sand lightly for a smoother finish if desired.

1. TEMPERATURE IS ESSENTIAL. The resin’s temperature and the workspace’s temperature are crucial. The ideal temperature range for the workspace is 25 to 30°C; the closer it is to 28°C, the better.

2. GET YOUR HARDENER AND RESIN WARM. Use a pail of warm water and submerge the resin and hardener bottles in it if the resin is cool. By doing this, microbubbles will be avoided. The resin mixture’s working time* will decrease from forty-five minutes to thirty minutes. The reason for this is that the resin mixture is thermosetting, meaning that a higher temperature will cause the curing process to start earlier than usual.

3. CAREFUL POURING. The resin or hardener should be gently poured down the measuring cup’s side. If you pour from a height above the measuring cup, air bubbles may form.

4. VOLUME RATIO. Verify again that the volume ratios of the resin and hardener are precise.

5. MIX THOROUGHLY AND SMOOTHLY. To prevent the addition of air bubbles, mix smoothly, fully, and steadily. (While combining, push the stirring tool to the bottom of the cup to prevent adding air to the mixture.)

6. Remove bubbles. Wait for approximately two minutes after mixing and pouring the resin and hardener. Then, use a lighter, a heat gun, a kitchen torch, an artist’s torch, a toothpick, or a straw to eliminate any air bubbles. (Continue to check over the next one to two hours to ensure that no further bubbles form.)

The coverage of Vajra Epoxy Resin depends on the substrate and application method. On average, 1 kg of mixed Vajra Epoxy Resin covers approximately 10–12 sq. ft. per mm of thickness. For precise results, use our resin calculator to determine the exact coverage based on your project requirements.

Yes, Vajra Epoxy Resin complies with food contact safety standards when fully cured. It is suitable for use on items like trays, coasters, and cutting boards. Ensure proper curing for at least 7 days before food contact.

Yes, Vajra Epoxy Resin is versatile and suitable for various projects, including river tables.
Vajra Epoxy table craft is ideal for large-scale resin projects such as river tables or deep casting. This resin is specifically designed for deep casting, allowing for single pours up to 1.5 inches thick without fear of overheating or bubbles.

  • Mix ratio: 3:1
  • Pot life: 5 hours
  • Maximum pour thickness: 1.5 inches.
    • Full cure time is 36 hours.
Vajra Epoxy table craft is ideal for difficult tasks requiring the embedding of objects or deep casts due to its extended working period. Resin has a curing duration of 36 hours, making it better suitable for jobs where time is not a factor.

Cured ArtResin can withstand temperatures up to 120°F (50°C). At this temperature, the resin may become slightly flexible but will harden again once cooled. Placing a hot cup of coffee on a coaster typically won’t damage the resin surface. However, exposing cured resin to temperatures exceeding 120°F (50°C), such as placing a hot dish from the oven on it or leaving it in a hot car, can cause irreversible damage.
